William Hill sportsbooks coming to Arena Racing Company tracks

In the United Kingdom, horseracing track operator Arena Racing Company has signed an agreement that is to see sportsbetting giant William Hill run on-course sportsbooks at six of its venues.

Arena Racing Company explained that the deal covers its horseracing tracks in Doncaster, Lingfield Park, Southwell, Wolverhampton, Worcester and Windsor and follows the long-term media rights accord inked between William Hill and its The Racing Partnership broadcasting arm in December.

“We are really pleased to have been able to work with William Hill to ensure all these betting facilities will be open in the coming weeks,” read a statement from Mark Spincer, Operations Director for London-based Arena Racing Company. “As a leading betting operator and key sponsor partner of Arena Racing Company, William Hill’s facilities are well placed to meet all customers’ needs and thrive in the years ahead.”

For its part, London-listed William Hill declared that it has operated an on-course sportsbook at Doncaster Racecouse since early-June while it inaugurated similar facilities at Wolverhampton Racecourse and Royal Windsor Racecourse last week. It stated that the agreement is to moreover see it become the title sponsor for the 2017 edition of the St Leger Stakes Festival at the South Yorkshire track, which is to run for four days from September 13 featuring a total purse worth in excess of $901,000.

“[Our] facilities at Doncaster are already proving popular so we are excited about extending our presence to the on-course betting facilities at six of Arena Racing Company’s racecourses,” read a statement from Steven White, Northern Region Divisional Director for William Hill. “On-course customers will receive the full William Hill service enabling them to bet on other courses as well as other sports while viewing the best of the day’s televised sporting action.”
